Since I keep community invert tanks, I am worried about more than snails. My personal experience with many shrimp and crayfish is that >5 ppm phosphate and you have a birth control pill for the critters. No direct health effect, just no eggs. My snails also died, but I have no proof that phosphates were the cause.
The FloraPride states that it is phosphate free. Ingredients are: potassium sulfate, edta, iron chloride, sodium hydroxide, dpta, ammonium heptamolybdate, demineralized water. For those of you with chemistry-based minds, please tell me which of these things are harmful, if any.
