The basic idea: create a addition to the website in which everyone can participate. In other words, we could build a on-line apple snail encyclopedia. I would like to give it a try. Everyone can edit and add pages/photographs on wiki.applesnail.net. The system keeps track on all changes, so abuse/errors can always be reverted back to previous state by the moderators.
One thing to keep in mind: copyrights. Only add things that are either public domain, or that you made yourself.
In general: the Apple snail wiki uses the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 2.5 License like the other parts of applesnail.net.
What does this mean?
1. Attribution. You must give the original author credit.
2. Non-Commercial. You may not use this work for commercial purposes. (so not on ebay auctions, commercial books etc.)
3. Share Alike. If you alter, transform, or build upon this work, you may distribute the resulting work only under a licence identical to this one.
(so other people, can benefit of your additions/improvements ONLY under the same license)
Anyway, feel free to participate! I highly recommend to do so!
