I certainly have. Gary is doing fine. I was trying to get a decent picture of him, but camera phones and aquariums don't work well together. You can see that he's fuzzy, but I would have liked to be able to show you the actual strands that are growing.

GOT IT!!

Nope, I couldn't fit anything behind it. It's like a regtangular "antique" trunk kind of thing, and it has like 4 pieces of wood ON it, so the trunk itself doesn't touch the wall, but the parts of the wood do, so a coat hanger was impossible and no way my vacuum would fit there.

My friends slowly moved it, like they were on the ground pushing the trunk with their feet against the wall to pull it back, it wasn;t that hard. But to put the trunk back, took 30 minutes :P

I called the company back afterwards, and THEN they answered, but the not very nice lady told me to PAY like 5$ for the booklet THEN they would send it... Anyways, I got it back, im happy weee!!!

The snails are doing super well too!

I recently got a bristol nose male pleco in my tank. As I had two bristol nose females in the tank already. I have prepared a cave for them and the male pleco has dug a entrance into the cave. Is there any way for me to know if they are breeding or not ?

One of the female plecoes at least spends a lot of time there now, specially when the male is not around.

I will post a picture of the cave tomorrow. But it is a flowerpot that I had already in the tank. I did just relocate it.

I remember you posting that a while ago--didn't you melt some pants or something? I'd like the formula for next time if you don't mind

I'll dig out my secret formula. We use Orex scrubs at the plant, so yes, I melt my pants, but white glue is the same stuff. Disolved and mixed with Borax (20 multe team will do) it sets up like jello. If you make it really thick you have crazy putty, the real thing. Add alcohol and you have a thick jell you can vacuum pack.

Here is one formula for slime:
http://www.stevespanglerscience.com/experiment/00000039

Thin it with rubbing alcohol for cold packs.

Hi there!

Been a while since I've posted here, but I wanted to reply.

I make my own cold packs as well. They are super easy to do!

Also, I am a veterinary technician, so I can tell you for sure that vet clinics toss out a number of cold packs every single week. Most of them get their orders in on Wednesdays, too (at least around here), so if you call on Monday or Tuesday, they can be sure to save them. We have the freezer in the kitchen stuffed full of them, so we can't even fit our lunches in there.

Also, I've shipped out big boxes full of them to some folks here on this board, for the cost of shipping only, if you're ever looking for more of them. Otherwise, they just get tossed in the trash.

These are still very funny/fun! Sliding around like little aliens...

The small ones have for some reason started sliding around on the glass instead of hiding. The environment has changed slightly, perhaps it's the shadows of my algae that forces them out to look for food.

I have also visited a lake (taking a bath, of course) where they are unusually big, and I wonder if this is genetic. Any ideas? I haven't measured, and it's not many mms, but it could be meaningful in the aquarium hobby, since some might think they are more "attractive".
