This guy & girl have way too much time on his hands. It turns out that not all mucus is created equally.

wow, that is a very detailed paper on mucous lol. i guess if you think about it makes sense that they would use one type of mucus for walking and another for sticking.

I would say that everything anyone wanted to know about snail mucous-and more :o -is in that paper. It did state that it is mainly composed of protein and carbs--maybe that's why the fish like to eat it? My picky platies and guppies are always picking around the snails if there is excess slime around.
